Gallup’s State Of The Global Workplace 2023 Report

Gallup's State of the Global Workplace 2023 Report was released this week.

The key numbers in this report to consider are:

Gallup’s key numbers form the State of the Global Workplace 2023 Report

What does this mean?

  • While employee engagement is in line with pre-pandemic levels and the highest since Gallup began measuring global engagement in 2009 the vast majority of the global workforce are not engaged, they are going to work and going through the motions because they have to pay the bills.

  • Europe's employee engagement levels were the lowest region.

  • 59% of the global workforce are quiet quitting (not engaged) but 72% are quiet quitting in Europe.

  • 53% of the world's workforce said now is a good time to find a job and half of the global workforce are watching for or actively seeking a new job.

  • Employee stress remained at a record-high level.

My Top Three Tips to Improving Employee Engagement

  1. The war for talent is still here and it is vital that employers review the employee experience and consider ways to improve it.

  2. People leave managers not organisations so equipping managers with the skills they need to be great leaders in a changing landscape needs to be a top priority.

  3. Review pay and benefits against your competition and ask the team what they need to improve their well-being.
