How to avoid burnout in the workplace
74% of UK adults have felt overwhelmed or unable to cope in the last year
The challenge of Regaining Connectivity, Certainty and Control is the theme of this year's Stress Awareness Month.
According to the Mental health Foundation 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope.
The Stress management Society and Huawei conducted a study on stress, gathering data from 2000 British adults. The research identified that 65% of people in the UK have felt more stressed since the COVID-19 restrictions began in March 2020. The three key causes for concern are:
feelings of disconnection
uncertainty
loss of control.
The Pandemic is also adding to burnout at work
The on-going restrictions, working conditions, expectations and blurred the lines between home life and work life as a result of the COVID pandemic are causing workplace teams to burn out.
Employee burnout is a symptom of modern workplaces that are increasingly fast-paced, complex and demanding. At work, many employees feel overwhelmed by competing demands and conflicting expectations.
